SALE! African Violets Birdhouse Broken China Mosaic Art, Wooden Watering Can

The most of extravagant of wooden birdhouses, worthy of even of perhaps a capricious Garden Fairy, this extra-large bird house shaped like a watering can is decorated with broken china pieces from Victoria C&E China Company's, 1940's African Violets teacup and saucer, with the teacup's backstamp added to the base of the backside for authenticity. The forward-facing portion captures whimsical violets surrounding the door, and bright white shards of china in curving shapes to create a rippling surface. The handle breathes magnificent indulgence with wide, 22 Karat Gold cartouches lining the three visible sides, and glossy white china on the bottom of the handle. In whimsical fashion, the top of the spout is bathed in tiny blue flowers from an extremely delicate Limoges teacup to emulate water droplets glistening on the spout.

The neck of the waterspout is covered in white china pieces from both the front and the back of the cup to create a muted pattern of whites. The top of the birdhouse displays dazzling African Violets couched against velvety, dark green leaves with the edging of the roof sponged with liberal 22 KaratGold trim. There is a 3 rope to hang the house if desired. This work of art stands 8'' tall and is 10'wide from spout to handle and is grouted and waterproofed so our artwork could also serve as a bird house, but I think such a hot house jewel would be better suited among your garden of African Violets as the focal point of your indoor garden. In French, pique assiette literally means stolen from plates.

This beautiful folk art style of mosaics, was created by Raymond Edouard Isidore. He discovered his bits of colored glass and pottery in the fields surrounding his house in Chartres, outside of Paris, and spent his life covering every surface of the inside and outside of the house and his garden area. His home is a popular tourist attraction and is known as "Maison Picassiette".

This creation was made in the same manner of broken and hand cut, vintage, fine china pieces. This item is in the category "Home & Garden\Yard, Garden & Outdoor Living\Bird & Wildlife Accessories\Bird Houses". The seller is "royalvintageteacups" and is located in this country: US.
